On 10th
of March we went to Krakow. The first stop was a meeting with the historian who
familiarized us to the topic: “Travelling in areas of nineteenth-century
Galicia”.
Then we went to The
Historical Museum of the City of Kraków, where we saw Tadeusz Pankiewicz’s Pharmacy in Kraków Ghetto and exhibition
called: „People of Kraków in Times of Terror”. This exhibition is a story about
the similarities between the two totalitarian systems: the nazi and the
communist. This inhuman world will be presented to the visitors by means of the
persons from the Gestapo and the Security Office. This exhibition is also a
story of the ordinary people, citizens of Krakow, who lived here in this highly
turbulent and tragic period in Polish history.
At the end of our
stay in Krakow we went to cinema for movie called „Room”. Main actress - Brie Larson won
multiple awards for her performance, including the Academy Award for Best
Actress, the BAFTA Award, Golden Globe Award, and the Screen Actors Guild Award.
Room also received three other Academy Award nominations, including Best
Picture and Best Director.
Despite the rain, we had a great day there!
